Love that city. My husband and I lived there in 1979 through 1986 and enjoyed it very much. Lived in Laureles area. I am coming back to visit soon. My Colombian daughter is coming with me.

I have a question.
As my wife turns 60 retirement is suddenly on the radar. We live in San Francisco Bay Area and will be forced to move if we desire any quality of life. Costa del Sol and Medellin are at the top of our list.
I have lived in Marbella and the weather is great. But more expensive and further away.

The statistics show that Medellin is overcast most days. Worse in fact than Seattle!
Yet everyone raves about the weather.
So I am suspecting that many “overcast” days become sunny at some point. Is that the case?
I think I would get depressed if it was overcast for weeks at a time.
I do plan to visit for a month, but I wouldn’t want to judge the overall weather by any single month.

In reply to Jeff. Agreed but carrying an umbrella with you can be a big plus. Especially during rainy months. We had some very serious rains in 2017 resulting in land and mudslides displacing many families here in some of the poorer barrios like San Javier and outlying suburbs like Giradota and Barbosa. La niña this year has wreaked severe damage to many parts of Colombia,including the Putumayo area and up north. Enjoy, have fun and be safe and remember your umbrella on questionable days.
